Provincial Addictions Treatment Facility Charlottetown (902) 368-6130 The primary objective of the inpatient unit at the Provincial Addictions Treatment Facility is to provide safe, medically supervised withdrawal management from all mood altering chemicals, education in the nature of addiction and motivation to further treatment.
The centre has 24 withdrawal management beds, and admits both men and women from across PEI. Adolescents in emergency situations, who require short-term observation and medication, are also offered withdrawal management services.
Lacey House Charlottetown (902) 368-4083 Lacey House is an extended care facility that provides a secure, structured, and therapeutic atmosphere for women operating toward maintaining a chemical-free lifestyle. Located in Charlottetown, the facility accommodates six residents. Residents are accepted into the house through an Habit Services referral, following a comprehensive assessment. Employees at Lacey House include a Supervisor, Case Workers, and Habit Workers who offer info and counselling primarily based on the idea that habit is a chronic, progressive, life-threatening disease requiring customized education and responsible management. Purpose: * To offer a safe, structured environment to assist women in maintaining an dependence-free lifestyle * To empower women to form healthy lifestyle selections * To supply data and counselling for womenâ€™s problems related to the challenges of dealing with life and to develop skills in relapse prevention * To help women in developing a personal treatment program based on the philosophy and practices of Alcoholics Anonymous
Hillsborough Hospital - Deacon House Rehab Charlottetown (902) 368-4036 Psychiatric hospital with 75 beds. Hillsborough Hospital provides medical services for individuals who are facing acute or enduring mental illnesses.
As the provincial in-patient psychiatric facility, Hillsborough Hospital's mission is to offer specialized acute and long-term treatment and rehabilitation to the people of Prince Edward Island who have enduring mental illness, persons with mental handicaps and psychogeriatric patients. In addition the Hospital provides day services to former patients.
The major specialized services offered include:
assessment/admission/acute and sub-acute treatment and management
- behavioral management
- rehabilitation/life skills
- domiciliary nursing assessments
- psychogeriatric services.
Talbot House Charlottetown (902) 368-4297 Talbot House is a residence for men where they receive chemical dependency recovery and fellowship to support their sobriety therefore they will regain dignity and confidence. While in residence, men participate in an active treatment program through data sharing, group therapy and individual counselling. Self-disicpline, life skills and coping mechanisms also are stressed. Talbot provide education and counselling to assist residents address daily stressors and develop skills that will help prevent relapses. Whereas at Talbot House residents are assisted in developing a personal recovery set up based on the principles of the self-help community. All work is predicated on the view of chemical dependency as a chronic, progressively life-threatening disease that needs personalized education and responsible management. So using chemicals is strictly prohibited and leads to discharge. Employees at Talbot House include a Supervisor, Case Workers, and Addiction Workers. In addition to providing dependence rehab workers acts as a link to community resources that help residents with housing, employment, counselling, educational opportunities, anger management, and other resources that can facilitate residents achieve success in life outside of Talbot House.
Smart Recovery PEI - Reach Foundation (902) 620-0000 The Reach Centre provides a safe, structured environment in a non-residential setting for youth who have completed a treatment program and are in recovery from an addiction. Reach assists youth in the identification and development of transferable skills related to employment while providing support and guidance with recovery through life skills, coaching, and motivation to build confidence and self-esteem. We provide a healthy and therapeutic learning and healing environment for both youth and their family members, while promoting addiction and mental health education and awareness in the community.
